On the racecourse

Today we want to visit the racecourse.
Horse racing is very popular in Buenos Aires and several times a week the two racecourse in Palermo and San Isidro open the doors.
We went to the race in Palermo
All horses were presented to interested viewers
We decided to have a flutter
Here is the lucky bill
And off we went!

But unfortunately we had no luck.
We backed the wrong horse...
But it was a big fun!

Next to Cristina Fernndez de Kirchner and Michelle Bachelet

Today we did another sightseeing tour in Buenos Aires. But the wether was not so nice. It was a rainy day...
In a shopping mall we found the whole soccer jersey of the Argentina national soccer team! We cross fingers for you! But Germany will be better ;-)
And then something special happened! We saw the first lady of Argentina!
The lady in black is Cristina Fernndez de Kirchner. She is the 52nd and current President of Argentina! Next to her is Michelle Bachelet the President of Chile!

Wow! that was a big honor for us!!

Buenos Aires at night

Tonight we were on the streets of Buenos Aires.
Many historic buildings are illuminated at night.
The Puente de la Mujer, in the Puerto Madero district, is a pedestrian bridge opened in 2001. It was designed by Valencian architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava. The bridge is 160 meters long and 6 meters wide, with a metallic mast that rises 39 meters. The bridge swings aside when a ship needs to pass through. The bridge was built in Spain and moved in parts to Buenos Aires in many shipments. Artistically, the author states that the work represent the figure of a couple dancing tango, where the white mast represents the man, and the curved silhouette of the bridge represents the woman.
And now we are next to this nice bridge!

After the long flight!

Now we are on our long flight to Argentina.
From Frankfurt, we flew across the Atlantic to South America.
Then we were already over Brazil. No long time anymore we arrived!
Now it was time, finally we arrived in Argentina! Hooray, Hooray! After thirteen and a half hours we had solid ground under our feet.
At nine o'clock we ate typical Argentine breakfast on the Plaza San Martn in Buenos Aires.

We look forward to the next days! See you soon.
