Cottage Christmas

We arrived to Parainen today. There is our host summer house. We will celebrate christmas here. No snow...

But great scenery, still! We heard that we are not having christmastree here, but fortunately we have one at home. We heard too that it's tradition in Finland to go christmas sauna, but we think it was too much hot last time 

 

Hans took these photos.. We were walking around outside and suddenly heard sniffin' sound! Hund!

It was in her own worlds and didn't notice us at all...

 

What it found?

 

It noticed us! And it looks hungry and lonely. Let's see if it has dog collar..

 

No it don't! We thought maybe it's homeless. So we get it inside and gave it water and food. :) We named it Joulu, because it's Christmas eve when we found it and "Joulu" means "Christmas" in finnish.. :)

Evening at Uusikaupunki

Today we came to Uusikaupunki! There lives our hosts grandparents.

 

We made some tea and sandwiches and look where we sleep!

 

Decorating time

Our host was at work all day today but we had little time for decorating!

Baking day!

Today was baking day! We made lot of gingerbreads and other goodies!

Shopping day

Last night was big storm so in the morning we didn't have electricity..! But it was beautiful morning.

 

We were helping our host to find christmasgifts. We were in Salo's only shopping center Plaza. In this picture we pose in front of pedestrian zone.

Finnish burger king is Hesburger! We eated one french frie and we liked it!

 Picking.. hmm.

 

We found big friend from Design Hill!

  And some nuts to eat, yum!

  At the moment we are wondering, why we pose in every picture like that, Hans on right and Paul on the left...

Grey day

We woke up to a gray day. It was snowing outside!

Morningcoffee!

Then we went to the library. Our host found couple of awesome books and she was happy, so were we, too. :) Library was peaceful.

  

When we get hungry, we went to Subway with our host's brother. It was nice to sit down and watch out of the window! Salo city!

We did some volunteerwork today too! We were packing christmasgifts what church give to children in this year. :) It's called "Gift to a child"-project.

 Although the day was gray, it was very colourful in the mind!

Finally here in Salo

It was dark when we came, because sunset come so quickly at the wintertime. :)

 At first we was little confused..! We didn't know anybody. But we noticed that people were kind and dog too..! :D Feels good. :)

Our host made us tea and gingerbread. She got new flavour tea, vanilla caramel! We were interested in this tea and our new host and her life.

It was nice to sit and relax after a long fly here..
