Today we visited the Old Town (sixth part)

 

 That part of the Old Town has really small streets

 

 And this stone pigeons are the guards - they're job is to keep cars away from certain places. The places that are ment for walkers only.

 

 And now going down from Toompea. Isn't it beautiful? All that was built so long ago still exist and is still so pretty. And take a look of that lamp - these are all over the Old Town, so it keeps the atmophere.

 

Many people sell the drawings and paintings of Old Town. They are really beautiful.

Today we visited the Old Town (fifth part)

And this is a view from other scenic view place. Totally different. There are railroad, factories and people houses. And maybe you recognize the pond?

Today we visited the Old Town (fourth part)

Like we said before, the Old Town is surrounded with city wall, this is another part of it, wright across the Toompea castle (government house). And as you can see - there's an opportunity to try the bows, would be great to try that. There is Old Town's days in June every year where people wear old clothes and dance and sing and there are many, many more events. And there are also a middle age days. Would be awesome to travel back in time just wearing old clothes and taking part of it.

And these are the roads - no asphalt! All is made of stones.

 So this is a view from one scenic view place.

 It's the Old Town inside. See the matching roofs? Awesome.

 And so many churches. And we are going to discover all of it!

Today we visited the Old Town (third part)

So on the way was Toompea - there is Estonian government, estonian White House if you like. Except it's pink. And there is a map aswell - in 4 languges - estonian, englisg, germany and russian.

We saw one fancy lattern on the way - they really try to keep it oldfasioned. It really suits there, makes the wright atmosphere.

Today we visited the Old Town (second part)

This is Linda's Hill park. There are lots of small parks around the Old Town, the all tell us a story from the past.

  

This is the board in front of the statue that says "Still thinking of those who were taken from here. Their oppression screams to the sky".

This is statue, the name probably came from the epos - Linda is the mother of Kalevipoeg (Kalevipoeg is the name od estonian epos). 

As you see in the itroduction - there were a lot of trees in that park, and there still is. We took one photo with and old tree.

So where do we go next? Ok - scenic view it is - both of them.

Today we visited the Old Town (first part)

We started from the other side - from Deer's park.

 You can read the introduction from the sign, so would feel like you are really there with us

  That is the place that really wants the picturing during the spring and summer. And you can see that it is really in old moat - look how high is the wall!

 

Leaving from the Deer park. Here is the "memoria stone" that says: In 23th august 1987 here was a gathering that started and celebrated the restoration of independence". Can you recognixe what is on the other picture?

 

Now we have much better picture of the highest tower.
