Our last day in Helsinki

Before we continue our journey to the wild wild East we enjoyed our last days in Helsinki:

Souvenir-shopping:

On the flea market next to the Hakaniemi market hall we purchased a great souvenir for Johannes, it will be a surprise :) In the supermarket we bought Liquorice, the candy Finland is well known for. Very yummy and hopefully there will be something left for Johannes, we try our best.

On our last day in beautiful Finland we went to a great beach on Lauttasaari, an island just west of the Helsinki city centre. The sun was shining and it was a prefect last day, thanks to our Airbnb host Johanna for this insiders' tip.

The last sunset with a wonderful view of the Baltic sea. We took a stroll in the Kaivopuisto park around 10pm and it was still very bright ... 

Lifestyle of Helsinki

 This evening we've been to Helsinkis bar quarter Kallio and had a huuuge beer.

Before that, we went to a street festival and had something typical Scandinavian: a cinnamon bun.

Then we went to Pihlajasaari by boat. It's an island in Helsinkis archipelago with beautyful sandy beaches.

But the water was to cold to go swimming!

A day in Helsinki

In Helsinki you take the street car to get around.

We've been to the old markethall with Sylvia and Jani. You can buy reindeer meet and sometimes even bear meat, but we would never ty that because bears are Janis favourite animals.

But the cake looked really delicious and you could even buy Berliner, like back home in Germany.

And we took photos in front of Helsinkis beautyful white cathedral. 

We arrived once again in Finland!

We've been very busy the last days, but now we are back posting!

Today we took a long walk with great weather round the T��l�nlahti in Helsinki.
